Simple Precautions to Help Stay Healthy

What You Can Do

The CDC recommends basic practices for decreasing the spread of germs:

  • Wash hands often with soap and water. When not available, an alcohol-based hand sanitizer is acceptable.
  • Cover your mouth when sneezing and coughing. If a tissue isn’t available, use the crook of your elbow.
  • Immediately dispose of used tissues in the trash.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth where germs can easily enter the body. Keep cuts covered.
  • Limit contact with individuals who are sick. If you are sick, avoid others during the specified contagious period.
  • Visit your physician, if you do not feel well.
  • Stay informed through reputable sources, such as flu.gov and cdc.gov. Don’t get caught in the media-induced flu panic.

Keep Exercising!

It is a known fact that exercise helps keep one healthy. Regular exercisers report fewer colds and other viruses. Working out also helps manage stress and anxiety, two culprits that lead to a weakened immune system.

Reminder

Please wipe down exercise equipment with conveniently supplied disinfecting wipes before and after use.  Hand sanitizer is also readily available for use throughout the Center.
